Check In to Hotel Translvania!

Mad monster party comes to DVD on January 29

By Diego Magaña and Damien Murphy | January 28 , 2013

High in the mountains of Transylvania Dracula has turned his castle into Hotel Transylvania as a safe place for all his monster friends.  It's the spookiest — and kookiest — hotel in the world! Walk into the lobby and you'll find Frankenstein, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Wolf Man, and all sorts of ghouls, ghosts, and creatures. No humans allowed!

But in the animated movie Hotel Transylvania, the monsters of the castle have an unexpected guest: a human who stumbled across the place while hiking. Dracula tries to keep the uninvited visitor away, but the young man meets Dracula's daughter, Mavis, and decides to stick around. All sorts of hilarious hijinks ensue!

A couple weeks ago, Kid Reporters Damien Murphy and Diego Magana visited Sony Animation Studios in California for a behind-the-scenes look at Hotel Transylvania. They talked to the director, Genndy Tartakovsky, as well as storyboard and 3D artists about how the movie was made. They even got a chance to give voice to some of the characters in the movie!

Click Play Video below to check out their behind-the-scenes tour! Then head over to the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps Blog to watch video of Damien and Diego behind the microphone creating voices for Dracula and Mavis!

You can check in to Hotel Transylvania when it's released on DVD on Tuesday.
