Make Every Day Earth Day
Roots & Shoots gets kids involved
In 1991, Dr. Jane Goodall and 12 students from Tanzania founded the organization Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots. Today, Roots & Shoots gets kids from more than 120 countries involved in projects for people, animals, and the environment, while teaching them about the problems facing the planet.
In March, Kid Reporters Damien Murphy and Miranda Rector found out more about the Roots & Shoots program by speaking to Adrienne Bermingham, the 2011-12 Roots & Shoots Youth Leadership Fellow, at the Los Angeles Environmental Education Fair.
