Using Scope to Build Vocabulary

Build your students’ vocabularies with our fantastic activities!

How to use Scope Vocabulary:
1. In each issue of Scope, there are 20 vocabulary words. These words appear in BOLD in the feature article and in the play. Challenge your students to find all 20 words and write them in their notebooks. This way, students can keep track of the words they learn as the year progresses.

2. Go to Scope Online. For each article, you will find a list of the vocab words to print or project. This list contains pronunciations, definitions, and example sentences. You will also find a review activity.

3. Three times a year, we give you a great activity that reviews all the words students have learned in the previous several issues. Find all three reviews for 2011-2012 below!
