Summary:
In this lesson, students will view a Scope video that presents four thought-provoking photographs and read a play about the late photographer Lewis Hine. Then they will use these resources to write a reflective essay answering the essential question Can a picture change the world?

Main objectives:
• to explore how photographs can effect change
• to make connections across media types
• to participate in class and small-group discussions
• to write a reflective essay
