Family Activity 3: Talk About Sharing
Getting Started
To prepare for this activity, review these important tips for talking to your kids about money. Then talk to your children about resources that can be shared with others—time, talents, and money. Giving back to the community is different for every family, so it's important to talk to children about how you choose to share your resources.
Talk About Sharing
Now that you have discussed how you share your resources, work with your child to decide how you will share your family's resources with others. Record your ideas on the Family Activity 3 Printable (PDF): "Talk About Sharing" with your child, then use your discussion to enter WordGirl's Power-Packed Sharing Challenge.
Now Try This
Sharing starts with a plan. Invite your children to think about how they would use $1,000 to make their community a better place.
