Author Rick Riordan is back and is even better than ever! His new book The Lost Hero has finally been released. Although based on stories from Greek mythology similar to his Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, The Lost Hero is not exactly a sequel. It introduces new characters and different concepts.
The story begins when a boy named Jason meets two other kids on a school bus: a girl named Piper and a boy named Leo. Piper claims to be Jason's girlfriend and Leo says he is Jason's best friend. They both act and talk to Jason like they have been friends forever. But here's the catch: Jason doesn't remember either of them. Furthermore, he doesn't remember anything!
As the story unfolds, Jason learns he is a demi-god: half human-half god. Trouble begins to follow him at school, but he and his friends are taken to Camp Half Blood by someone that fans of Riordan's Olympian series are sure to recognize!
Just as the group begins to settle into camp routine, life gets complicated again. Jason, Piper, and Leo are dragged into a quest to defend the gods and Western civilization from total destruction.
The Lost Hero can be described as an action, adventure, and comedy. By mixing Greek mythology with 21st century characters, Riordan has added humor and imagination to classic tales that any reader can relate to. The Lost Hero might just be Riordan's best book ever!
