Boeing's Dreamliner Takes Flight

Behind-the-scenes look at the new quieter, more fuel-efficient airplane

By Isabelle Quinn | July 19 , 2010

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner made its first test flight in Europe over the weekend. The new commercial plane is quieter and more fuel efficient than planes now in the air. When it was announced three years ago, it became the fastest-selling commercial jet in history. Delivery has been delayed six times, but Boeing announced this week that its first customer, Japan's All Nipon Airline, should receive a finished product by the end of this year or early 2011.

Kid Reporter Isabelle Quinn got a first hand look at the new plane recently when she visited the assembly plant in Washington state. Click on the play button below to see what she found out about this cool new plane.
