Tips for using this issue with a whiteboard:

  • Use pages 2-3 of the magazine to make predictions. In advance of the lesson, use the screen shade or the reveal tool to cover up steps 2 through 4 of the frog life cycle.
  • Read step 1 and have children predict what will happen next. Then reveal the 2nd photo. Was anyone's prediction correct? Continue until you have revealed each step of the frog life cycle.

Tips for using this issue with a whiteboard:

  • Display the cover of your digital issue and read the title. Point out that the bird has a berry in its mouth. Inside the berry is a small seed. Have a volunteer come up and circle the berry on the cover.
  • Next, have a volunteer come up and click the bottom right corner to "turn the page."
  • As you read pages 2-3, have children use the pen tool to circle a berry in each photo.
  • Display the activity on page 4. Together, count the seeds in each fruit. Write the numeral next to the fruit. Then circle the answer. Use your colored pens to complete the "¡Ahora esto!" section of the activity.

Tips for using this issue with a whiteboard:

  • Use pages 2-3 of the digital issue to track text together. Review the Leamos juntos text with children (¡No botes basura, botabasura!). On the whiteboard, highlight each word as you read it aloud, and encourage children to "read" along with you.
  • Then hunt for the litterbugs. Let children come up to the board and circle the litterbugs. Then, have them X out the trash.
