On the show floor of the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show, there are all sorts of gadgets and toys that catch your eye. Many of these are robots, like the ones developed by WowWee Robotics.
WowWee's robots include the Robosapian, the RoboRaptor, and the Robopet. Each one is an intelligent robot that can react to the world around them, as well as respond to controls.
This year at the CES, WowWee is debuting several new eye-catching robots, as well as one new WowWee Alive product.
The RS Media is the third iteration of the Robosapian line. It has all the features that the Robosapian v2 had, which includes the ability to interact with its surroundings and speak with you. It also has the added feature of being a media center. It supports music, photos, and movies, and has a built in camera to take your picture. It has a small amount of internal memory, and can be expanded with a Secure Digital memory card.
The RS Media also features different personalities. It has four pre-installed ones you can switch between, or you can create a customized personality. You can also put the RS Media into “puppet mode,” which allows you to teach it commands by moving a 3-D model on the screen the way you want the robot itself to move.
The RS Media will be available this summer at a price of $299.99.

Unlike most of WowWee robots, Robopanda does not have a remote control. Rather, it solely operates using its built in touch and IR sensors. It will ask you to do something, such as giving it a high five, and then launch into a story related to whatever you did to interact with it.
In addition to telling you stories, it will also play games and sing songs. It comes with a smaller, plush panda bear. The Robopanda recognizes and talks to the stuffed animal.
The Robopanda will be available this summer at a price of $229.99
WowWee Alive Elvis
One of the latest additions to the WowWee Alive collection is a model of the head of Elvis, which sings some of his greatest songs, as well as tells some of his life stories. The model is approved by Graceland, and accurately depicts the King’s face.
You can tell him to sing a specific song, or have him respond to the environment around him, using the microphone shaped controller. There are also optional cartridges you can buy that contain extra songs.
The WowWee Alive Elvis will be available this summer for $349.99. The optional cartridges will cost around $29.99.
