Reading That's Fun Gets Done
Reading Fest You don't have to persuade a child to have fun. Kids are all about fun - favorite games, favorite activities, favorite friends, favorite places. Here are some great ways to make reading fun:
  • Introduce your kids to downloadable art, videos, and Common Core-ready learning resources available free through The Art of Read Every Day, designed for students in grades K-2 and 3-5. Students will love the downloadable posters from 13 popular children's authors, the author interviews and read-alouds, and the host of hands-on activities. Share this great resource with your principal to use as your school prepares for its upcoming Fair.

  • Enlist your Junior Crew members to help plan your upcoming Fair, and have them exhibit their favorite titles at your Fair.

  • Schedule a Rev Up Reading Book Fair. Contact your consultant for details.
Reading Fest How to Create Successful Reading Spaces

Want to maximize your reading resources in your classroom, library, and Book Fair to inspire your kids to read? Three-time Scholastic Book Fairs« National Elementary School Contest winner Sarah Svarda shares her simple strategies for getting kids excited about their reading spaces.

Expand Your Book Fair with Online Shopping
Book Fair chairperson and librarian Suzanne Simpson of Mount Carbon Elementary has promoted online shopping during her past four Book Fairs, and each year she feels it expands her Fair a little more. Suzanne shares, "This year's success was due to an extended family of grandparents, aunts, and cousins, as well as neighbors of a family who were out of town during our Fair..."
