Family Events Family Events
As you gear up for your fall Reading Oasis Book Fair, remember that Family Events are pivotal to your Fair's success. The more opportunities you provide for families to participate in your Book Fair, the more likely to reach ALL parents in your school community, and the more books you are likely to put in the hands of students! Try some of these ideas:
  • Evening Events work best when coupled with a school activity such as a concert, student performance, or literacy night. And offering food is always a HIT!
  • Morning Events, such as Muffins for Mom or Donuts for Dad, provide the perfect solution for parents whose evenings are swallowed up in extracurricular activities and homework.
  • Lunchtime Events allow working parents to join their children for lunch and Book Fair shopping. But here's an even bigger plus: Daytime events actually result in greater participation and sales than evening events!
Check out these amazing decorating ideas for your fall Reading Oasis Book Fair, and start planning today!
Make Your Fair Family-Friendly with Multiple Events
Make Your Fair Family Friendly By planning a variety of events during the week, you can maximize Book Fair shopping hours and give everyone - students, teachers, families, and friends - an opportunity to participate. Three-time Scholastic Book Fairs® National Elementary School Contest winner Sarah Svarda shows that having multiple events doesn't multiply your workload.

Here's how Sarah makes family events a hit every time.
Workshops and Webinars Mean a Win for Your Fair
