Spring into Summer!
Principal Michael Weaver As we start winding down the school year, it's time to ramp up summer reading plans and consider how we can inspire students to think of reading as a fun summer activity. With kids heading off on road trips, to the beach, to summer camps, and the like, sending them off with a handful of the right books will keep them primed when fall rolls around. Let's face it: The summer slide isn't any fun!

Last month we featured Principal Michael Weaver, aka Bookman Weaver, a caped crusader whose superpower is getting more kids to read more. That, as research shows, is especially important over the summer.

Bookman recommends that we show kids how fun reading can be by putting fun reads in front of them. And he helps us do just that with his top summer reading picks! Promote these great titles to students of all ages - perhaps using booktalks - and watch the summer reading fun begin!
