Scholastic Book Fairs Library Makeover Sweepstakes

Enter for a chance to win a $4,000 library makeover for your school from Scholastic Book Fairs' Instructional Resource Catalog! Plus, each entry will qualify your school for a weekly drawing, where you could win a "Hundred Book Library!"

OFFICIAL RULES

ELIGIBILTY:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of the fifty United States and D.C., who are over 21 years of age and are teachers, faculty, or Book Fair chairpeople at preschools, K-6 schools, K-8 schools, middle schools, junior high schools, and K-12 schools in the fifty United States and D.C. that conduct a Scholastic Book Fair between September 1, 2008, and May 31, 2009. One entry per person. You may enter the sweepstakes only once per Book Fair event. Void in Puerto Rico and where otherwise prohibited by law. Employees, and members of their families living in the same household, of Scholastic Book Fairs, its parent, subsidiaries, brokers, distributors, dealers, retailers, affiliates, and its advertising, promotion, and production agencies, are not eligible to enter this sweepstakes.

HOW TO ENTER:
Visit the online Instructional Resource Catalog at www.bookfairrewards.com and enter the promotional code found on the inside flap of the front cover of the printed Instructional Resource Catalog. Entries must be received by May 31, 2009. Scholastic is not responsible for electronic, late, lost, stolen, misdirected, damaged, mutilated, postage due, incomplete or illegible entries.

WINNER SELECTION:
Sweepstakes begins on September 1, 2008, and officially closes on May 31, 2009. Entries must be received by midnight May 31, 2009, to be determined solely by Scholastic Book Fairs. All entries, including rights therein of winning entries, become the property of Scholastic Book Fairs and will not be returned. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received. Entrants may enter the sweepstakes beginning September 1, 2008.

Weekly winning schools will be randomly selected beginning the first Monday after the start of the sweepstakes.


One winning school will be randomly selected on January 5, 2009, from entries received from September 1, 2008, through January 4, 2009, and will be designated a First Place Winner. The second First Place winning school will be randomly selected on June 1, 2009, from entries received from January 5, 2009, through May 31, 2009.

PRIZES:
First Place – Two Winners
Two (2) first place winners will each receive a $4,000 Library Makeover from the Scholastic Book Fairs Instructional Resource Catalog. Winning school will select from over 1,000 items including furniture, equipment, decorations, books, audio and more! Product selection must take place by July 1, 2009. Merchandise may be selected online at www.bookfairrewards.com, by mail, fax, phone or any combination. The prize may not be combined with any other discount or promotion such as free shipping or any additional promotional discounts online. Winners returning merchandise will receive a credit to be applied towards future purchases. Shipping costs will not be refunded. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of each First Place Prize: $4,000.00.

Second Place – Thirty-nine Winners
Thirty-nine (39) second place winners will each receive a “Hundred Book Library.” (Each library will include 100 books and winners will be able to select grade level). Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of each Second Place Prize: $400.00

ARV of all prizes combined: $23,600.00

GENERAL:
Scholastic Book Fairs shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the sweepstakes. If any prize is not available or cannot be fulfilled, Scholastic Book Fairs reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Scholastic Book Fairs’ decisions concerning all matters relating to this sweepstakes shall be final and binding.

All entrants, as a condition of entry, agree to release Sponsor, its affiliates, distributors and agencies from any and all liability for injuries or damage of any kind sustained through participation in this sweepstakes or use of a prize once accepted.

No cash substitutions, transfers or assignments of prizes allowed, except by Scholastic Book Fairs in case of unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.

Each winner will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release form within seven (7) days of notification attempt or an alternate winner may be selected. By accepting the prize, each winner grants to Scholastic Book Fairs the right to use his or her name, likeness, hometown, biographical information, and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion including on the Scholastic Web site, www.scholastic.com, without further notice or compensation, except where prohibited by law.

By accepting a prize, winners also agree to release Scholastic Book Fairs and its parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and their respective advertising, promotion or production agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity. Taxes on prizes and any unspecified expenses are the sole responsibility of the winners.
