Friendly Dragon Cake
Ask a local bakery to donate a special dragon cake. Download this template (PDF) to take to your bakery to use a guide. Raffle off during your Family Event.
Dragon-tail Bread
Dragon-tail bread is easy and fun to make. For each loaf, use one package of refrigerated French bread dough. Unwrap. Cut diagonal wedge-shaped pieces out. Add wedges to shape a forked tail. Pull edges out and place foil underneath to support the "scale" shape. Bake according to package directions. Serve with Spaghetti during special Family Event combining your Book Fair and Spaghetti Dinner night.
Crispy Rice Wand Treats
No magic needed for these easy treats that kids will love!
In saucepan:
- Heat one tablespoon butter with a bag of marshmallows on stovetop until thick marshmallow crème forms.
- Add four cups of crispy rice cereal to marshmallow mixture and stir.
- Quickly pour into brownie pan and smooth out with wooden spatula.
- Use star-shaped cookie cutters to cut out stars.
- Let cool. Insert wooden dowel into rice cereal star.
- Wrap with colored cellophane and tie off with pipe cleaners or ribbon.
- Sell at your Family Event.
