Kids Are Authors

Your kids could become published authors!

Enter the Kids Are Authors annual competition to encourage students to use their reading, writing, and artistic skills.

Under the guidance of a project coordinator, children work in teams to write and illustrate their own book. The contest is open to students in grades K–8 in the United States, including its territories and possessions.

Two grand-prize-winning books will be selected in each of these categories: Fiction and Nonfiction. The winning books will be published by Scholastic and sold at Book Fairs throughout the country!

The deadline for next year’s contest is March 15, 2016.
