Ask, Listen, Learn: Kids and Alcohol Don’t Mix (asklistenlearn.org) has developed free science-based resources for educators to help prevent underage drinking. even animated videos take students on a journey through the brain, teaching the science of how the brain works and how alcohol affects it. Corresponding lesson plans, interactive classroom activities, and additional resources make the program appropriate for teachers, parents, counselors, school nurses, and more.

These materials all promote saying “YES” to a healthy lifestyle and “NO” to underage drinking. Program content regarding the effects of alcohol on the developing brain has been reviewed by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) and is consistent with currently available science.
