"My name is Jake." Those four words started this whole crazy saga. And although we STILL can’t tell you the last name of the Animorphs' trustworthy leader (you can find out in book #53!), we CAN tell you the last name of another Jake. It’s Ashmore. Shawn Ashmore. And he played Jake on TV.

What else can we tell you about Jake and Shawn? We think Shawn says it best in Meet the Stars of Animorphs: "I see Jake as the responsible one of the group. He kind of balances everyone else. He’s not really outgoing, but he’s not really laid back. He’s somewhere in the middle. So that makes him the balance, the center. And that’s why everyone looks up to him."

"I’m kind of like that, too. I’m not exactly a leader, but I’ve had people tell me that I work well in group situations and take control when I need to. It’s not like a dominating thing, with me or with Jake, I just feel comfortable dealing with people. I’m level-headed. And if there needs to be a leader, I can definitely step up and take over."
