HP Names Winners of Create-a-Calculator Contest
Students, educators, and administrators in high schools and colleges win thousands of dollars in cash prizes and calculators.

HP and Scholastic Administr@tor recently named the winners of the 2005 Create-a-Calculator contest. Since 2003 the two companies have partnered together to encourage students to design original products that are both functional and visually appealing. This year, students in high school and college were eligible to enter. Members of the American Society of Engineering Education, employees of HP, and editors from Scholastic Administr@tor magazine and Scholastic’s teen magazine network judged the entries. Judges looked at creativity, technology, presentation, and feasibility to select three grand-prize winners and five runners-up in each category. At the high school level, one teacher and one school were recognized for the greatest number of entries.
