TECH-SAVVY TIPS FOR CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

  1. Encourage teachers to search the Internet for effective technology-related classroom management strategies.
  2. Train teachers to give clear directions, specific expectations, and time limits.
  3. Configure classrooms so technology use can be monitored.
  4. Prepare teachers to keep students engaged and focused on class content, not on the technology tools.
  5. Demonstrate to teachers how effective movement through the classroom can reduce student misbehavior.
  6. Tell teachers you expect them to plan for classroom management. "Winging it" doesn't work in a computer lab.
  7. Educate teachers about the district's Acceptable Use Policy, and make sure teachers cover it with students.
  8. Require teachers to post rules and consequences in the classroom—and support their implementation.
