TECH-SAVVY TIPS FOR CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
- Encourage teachers to search the Internet for effective technology-related classroom management strategies.
- Train teachers to give clear directions, specific expectations, and time limits.
- Configure classrooms so technology use can be monitored.
- Prepare teachers to keep students engaged and focused on class content, not on the technology tools.
- Demonstrate to teachers how effective movement through the classroom can reduce student misbehavior.
- Tell teachers you expect them to plan for classroom management. "Winging it" doesn't work in a computer lab.
- Educate teachers about the district's Acceptable Use Policy, and make sure teachers cover it with students.
- Require teachers to post rules and consequences in the classroomand support their implementation.
