Meet our distinguished group of advisors who offer a wealth of information on education technology to help us provide you with a superior magazine.

Sheryl Abshire is the Administrative Coordinator of Technology for the Calcasieu Parish Public Schools in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Ms. Abshire has worked in education for 29 years as a school principal, K-5 teacher, library/media specialist, and adjunct professor. She was named Louisiana's "Computer Using Educator of the Year" in 1998.

Daryl Ann Borel is director of education grants for the Beaumont Foundation of America in Texas. Ms. Borel was previously technology director for Houston Public Schools.

Katherine Clark is Principal of Ocoee Middle School, Florida's Demonstration School. Dr. Clark has served in administrative and teaching positions in Florida's Public Schools for 27 years. She has received several awards for her leadership.

Mark Edwards has been Superintendent of Henrico County Public Schools in Richmond, Virginia since 1994. He has received numerous awards for his work, including being named Virginia Superintendent of the Year in 2001. Dr. Edwards has 25 years in education, including work as Superintendent for the Danville (VA) Public Schools from 1992-94 and as a principal and teacher at schools in Florida and Tennessee.

Ann Flynn is Director of Education Technology for the National School Boards Association where she oversees the Technology Leadership Network (TLN), a national membership program serving nearly 500 school districts. Dr. Flynn has worked for nearly 20 years in the education technology field, including work with the Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon, VA, and the University of Virginia.

Charlie Garten is Executive Director of Educational Technology and Information Systems for the Poway Unified School District in Poway, California. Mr. Garten has 27 years working in education as a middle school teacher, college professor, school board member, principal, superintendent, and director of technology. He was awarded outstanding technology teacher by the San Diego County Office of Education.

Jim Hirsch is Assistant Superintendent for Technology Services for the Plano Independent School District in Plano, Texas. He has worked in education for more than 27 years. He has helped thousands of teachers in the US and Canada to integrate technology into their curriculum. Mr. Hirsch spent 21 years of his career with the Anoka-Hennepin School District in Minnesota, leading a variety of technology implementations. He is the chair of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN).

Carol Kaunzner is the Technology Director for the Ft. Huachuca Accommodation Schools in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. She has taught in the district since 1974, including 10 years teaching programming and computer applications. She has also served as an associate faculty member in the Computer Information Systems Department at Cochise Community College.

Keith Krueger is Executive Director of the Consortium for School Networking, a national nonprofit that promotes the use of information technologies and the Internet in K-12 classrooms to improve learning. He co-founded and is president of Nonprofit Management, Inc., which specializes in management services for nonprofits using information technologies in education, health, and libraries.

Dan Lumley is Director of Curriculum & Instruction for the Lee's Summit R-7 School District in Missouri. Mr. Lumley has worked with teachers, school board members, and administrators throughout the US. He has co-authored 10 books on technology leadership issues. Mr. Lumley has previously worked as an assistant superintendent and a director of secondary education. Mr. Lumley is also an adjunct professor at Kansas State University.

Bob Moore is the Executive Director of Information Technology Services for the Blue Valley Unified School District 229 in Overland Park, Kansas. He has been in educational technology leadership for more than 15 years, the past seven in Blue Valley. He is a member of CoSN's Board of Directors and will begin a two-year term as chairman in February 2003.

Mickey Revenaugh is the Vice President for State Strategies for Connections Academy/Sylvan Ventures. Ms. Revenaugh was vice president for outreach and education for the E-Rate from 1997 to 1999. She is also the former editor of Scholastic's Instructor, Electronic Learning, America's Agenda, and Middle Years magazines.
