SCHOLASTIC MEDIA ANNOUNCES I SPY™ MYSTERY for WIN/MAC CD-ROM

Crack The Code and Solve 13 Captivating Mysteries with the New I SPY CD-Rom

New York, NY (July 11, 2006) -- Scholastic Media (SM), a leading producer of quality, family-oriented media including feature films, home video, TV and software, today announced I SPY™ Mystery for Windows/Mac CD-ROM. The newest addition to the I SPY interactive franchise offers a brand new way to play the enormously popular seek-and-find game, as players throw on a detective’s trench coat and pick up magnifying glasses to investigate 13 unique mysteries.

In I SPY Mystery, kids aged 6-10 are given 13 mystery files to solve. Players earn mystery clues by completing I SPY riddles. Once players earn the clues, the chase truly begins as they comb the photorealistic I SPY picture screens to solve each mystery. Mysteries include finding a painting that has disappeared from a museum, tracking a pesky mouse, and revealing a scientist’s secret code, among others.

“I SPY has been a phenomenal success in the interactive space and Scholastic Media is thrilled to expand the game play beyond what fans have come to know and love from our CD-ROMs,” said Alan Waldman, SVP and General Manager of Scholastic Media’s Interactive Products Group. “The new mystery-based game play adds a fresh level of challenge to the popular I SPY puzzles and delivers an experience that is both engaging and educational.”

As players uncover the secrets behind the game’s 13 mysteries, they must solve 56 challenging I SPY riddles viewed through 45 engaging picture riddle screens. To personalize the experience further, some scenes from each mystery are tailored with the child’s name. I SPY Mystery will be released in August 2006.

Scholastic's best-selling I SPY picture books, with more than 30 million books in print since 1992, introduce children to the basic principle of rhythm and rhyme while strengthening their visual discrimination and problem-solving skills through Jean Marzollo's delightful riddles and Walter Wick's captivating photographic images. In 2003, I SPY jumped off the pages and onto the screen with an animated series airing on HBO Family that was recognized with an Emmy Award. I SPY continues to be a hit in the digital world as well, with an award-winning CD-ROM series that consistently ranks as a best-seller and a Web site that receives nearly one million page views every month.
