Scholastic Names New Chief Information Officer, Reg Maton



New York, NY (December 12, 2002) --

Scholastic Inc., the global children's publishing and media company, today named Reg Maton as its new Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer. In this role, he will work with the company's business units, service groups, and international subsidiaries to continue the development and implementation of a comprehensive, integrated IT platform maximizing the potential of each of Scholastic's businesses. Maton will report to Beth Ford, Senior Vice President of Global Operations and Information Technology for Scholastic.

Maton has held the CIO position in four companies including Tiffany & Company, Olympus America, Standard Microsystems, and most recently, Symbol Technologies. He has implemented Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and supply chain planning systems such as SAP and I2, and has deep experience in e-commerce technologies development. He is also well versed in database and data warehouse development, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) projects and technologies. In addition, Maton has a media and publishing business background, having spent 12 years at CBS.
