Scholastic, the global children's publishing and media company, today announced Kyle Good as Vice President, Corporate Communications and Media Relations. Ms. Good will report to Judy Corman, Senior Vice President of the Division.
Ms. Good brings an extensive background in television news, public relations, and children's advocacy to her position at Scholastic. Most recently, she served as Director of Communications for the Children's Defense Fund (CDF) New York office and Director of Regional Communications for CDF, the nation's premier children's advocacy organization. At CDF, she led the media and public relations team for the Washington, DC-based group and its seven state and regional offices. Prior to CDF, Ms. Good had a successful career as a television news producer/director at CBS and NBC. In 1979, she broke the gender barrier to become the first female network news director at CBS News. Her credits at the networks include the award-winning premier production of the long-running CBS series,
48 Hours and NBC's
The Brokaw Report,
Real Life with Jane Pauley, and
The Today Show, as well as President Reagan's farewell interview from the Oval Office and two hour-long specials on
A Day in the Life of the White House during the “first” Bush and the Clinton Administrations. Before entering journalism, Kyle spent four years as a fifth grade schoolteacher in Fairfax County, Virginia.

In her role at Scholastic, Ms. Good will work with the communications team to develop and execute strategic plans for the company's various divisions including Scholastic Education, Scholastic Book Clubs, Scholastic.com, Scholastic Library Publishing and Community Affairs.
