Scholastic, the global children’s publishing and media company, has named Elliott Rebhun Editor of
The New York Times UPFRONT®, a leading national news magazine for teens published by Scholastic in partnership with
The New York Times.
Rebhun will continue the magazine’s mission of publishing articles on national and international current events that impact teens’ lives and help their teachers lead lively, relevant classroom discussions about the important issues of the day.
Elliott will report to Rebecca Bondor, Vice President, Editor in Chief of Scholastic’s 34 classroom magazines.
Rebhun brings a wealth of media experience to his new role at Scholastic.
Since 1993, Elliott has held various editorial positions at
The New York Times.
Most recently he was a staff editor at
The New York Times News Service for international supplements and daily news operations, and he edited teachers’ guides for
The Times’ Newspapers in Education program. During his tenure at
The Times, Rebhun also oversaw content development for
New York Times Digital and
The New York Times on America Online, the paper’s first online service focusing on news and the arts.
Before joining
The New York Times, Elliott was special projects director at
Newsweek International and managing editor of
Departures magazine.
