Special Harry Potter Movie Celebration Count Down Week, Dear America: A Light in the Storm Live Performances, A Terrific Thanksgiving Day Parade and More

New York, NY (September 26, 2002) -- Scholastic Book Store™ located at 557 Broadway/130 Mercer Street between Prince and Spring Streets in the heart of SoHo, continues to offer FREE, fun and educational events for kids of all ages! November features a fantastic line-up of special events themed around the release of Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets movie, the New York premiere of the new play, A Light in the Storm based on Scholastic's popular Dear America® book series and Clifford's Countdown to the Holidays. The Scholastic Story Teller will read every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. All events are FREE and open to the public. (See listing below for details.) The touring production, which originated at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. in fall 2001, arrives at Scholastic for a limited engagement. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and so is another timeless American tradition -- the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Kids of all ages are invited to a special Thanksgiving reading of Scholastic's new book, Milly and the Macy's Parade -- meet the author Shana Corey, & illustrator Brian Helquist as they share their book and sign copies for you to take home. Afterwards, take part in a special parade that takes off from The Scholastic Store!
