Scholastic Honored with 13 Distinguished Achievement Awards and 1 Beacon Award From The Association of Educational Publishers (EdPress)

New York, NY (June 14, 2005) -- Scholastic Inc., the global children’s publishing, education and media company, recently received thirteen Distinguished Achievement Awards and one Beacon Award from the Association of Educational Publishers (EdPress).  Since 1964, the Awards have recognized excellence in educational publishing, growing in scope and distinction to become the highest honor in the industry.  The 2005 Awards were presented at the 42nd annual awards banquet last week at The Renaissance Hotel in Washington, DC.

In addition, the Scholastic Education Early & Primary Reading Catalog 2005, submitted by Scholastic Classroom Libraries, was awarded a Beacon Award for Best Catalog.  Formerly known as the Distinguished Marketing Awards, The Beacon Awards honor excellence in Education Marketing and are held in the highest regard within the educational community and beyond, as only 8 winners are selected from thousands.

Scholastic was also awarded the top honor of Periodical of the Year in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
