CLIFFORD IS ‘TOP DOG’ AT LICENSING SHOW 2005


Scholastic Entertainment Transitions Classic Clifford the Big Red Dog Toward Evergreen Status Through Grow With Clifford Campaign

Scholastic Entertainment (SE) heads into Licensing Show 2005 starting a new chapter for everyone’s favorite crimson canine Clifford the Big Red Dog.  A “bone-afide” international and domestic superstar, Clifford is an enormous success in traditional and nontraditional licensing categories and continues to perform as one of the world’s top preschool properties. Now, five years after Clifford’s debut on PBS KIDS, SE is looking to the future and developing a long-term marketing campaign that will emphasize all the wonderful ways children can “Grow with Clifford.” The new strategy will combine various promotional and educational activities across Clifford the Big Red Dog and Clifford’s Puppy Days brands to extend the life of the character in new and exciting ways.

Clifford has proven successful in various categories including electronic learning toys, pet supplies/goods, playground/outdoor equipment and live shows.  Recent deals with Fisher-Price and General Mills’ organic cereal division, Cascadian Farm, have created top-selling product offerings such as the Ready for School™ CLIFFORD® and Clifford Crunch Cereal.  These products encourage children to lead healthy and wholesome lives with an emphasis on improving the mind and body.  A list of current licensees includes:

About Clifford The Big Red Dog
Clifford The Big Red Dog is a “bone”afide children’s literary classic.
