Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education and media company, today announced the appointment of Evan St. Lifer to the newly created position of Vice President and General Manager of Scholastic Library Publishing, reporting to Greg Worrell, President, Scholastic Library Publishing.
In his new role, Mr. St. Lifer will oversee the editorial, marketing and sales efforts for the Company’s library publishing businesses. He will have day-to-day oversight of Scholastic Library Publishing’s major reference and nonfiction imprints including Grolier®, Grolier Online®, Children’s Press® and Franklin Watts®, which include such notable reference resources as Encyclopedia Americana®, the newly released Encyclopedia Latina, New Book of Knowledge®, and Nueva Enciclopedia Cumbre en Linea. While at SLJ, Mr. St. Lifer re-launched the SLJ website and created SLJ’s Curriculum Connections, winner of the Association of Educational Publishers’ 2004 Distinguished Achievement Award for best special publication. Scholastic Library Publishing values the important role that libraries play in serving their communities. In addition, studies show that well staffed and well-stocked school libraries can have a profound effect on academic success for all children. “Evan brings and unparalleled expertise and commitment to supporting school and public library media specialists in their contributions to student achievement,” said Greg Worrell, President, Scholastic Library Publishing. “He will be instrumental in SLP’s continued efforts to ensure that all children benefit from access to quality books and enriching reference materials at school and in the home.”
