SCHOLASTIC AND THE KENNEDY CENTER IMAGINATION CELEBRATION™ PRESENT THE NEW YORK PREMIERE OF HARLEM, A LIVE PERFORMANCE OF THE AWARD WINNING BOOK AT THE SCHOLASTIC AUDIOTORIUM

New York, NY (January 30, 2003) -- New York, NY (January 30, 2003)-- The Scholastic Store™, located at 557 Broadway between Prince and Spring Streets in the heart of SoHo, continues to offer FREE, fun and educational events for kids of all ages!  March features a fantastic line-up of fun events including the first-ever Family Fair, a live performance of the award-winning book Harlem, special craft demonstrations and more!  The Scholastic Story Teller will read bedtime stories every Tuesday at 6 p.m. and fun stories every Wednesday at 11 a.m..  All events are FREE and open to the public. Reserve your free tickets today! Scholastic and The Kennedy Center IMAGINATION CELEBRATIONTM on Tour, are proud to present the New York premiere of "Harlem," a live stage adaptation of the award-winning book by Walter Dean Myers and Christopher Myers. Take a vibrant journey through the streets of Harlem. Streets full of life, language, history, rhythm, and music merging into an exciting blend of poetry, jazz and art. A must see family performance at The Scholastic Auditorium. Autographed copies of Harlem will be on sale at The Scholastic Store. (Tickets are FREE- RSVP required, please call 212-389-3800).
