GROLIER ONLINE HONORED WITH AWARD FROM THE ASSOCIATION FOR LIBRARY SERVICE TO CHILDREN



New York, NY (January 26, 2006) -- Scholastic Library Publishing today announced that Grolier Online®, the leading subscription-based online reference resource for schools and libraries, has been selected as the 2006 Notable Online Subscription Service from the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC).  This prestigious annual award honors exemplary computer software for children. 
 
An online learning tool, Grolier Online is a fully integrated database collection and research portal for schools, public libraries, and homes—delivering proven educational content within a controlled research environment that's safe, fun and easy to use (go.grolier.com). Grolier Online was honored by ALSC for its recent upgrade, which features new age-appropriate home pages to facilitate research efforts for students at various grade levels, more robust search functionality, enhanced graphics, and updated and expanded content.
