Scholastic Media (SM), a leading producer of quality, family-oriented media including feature films, home video, TV and interactive products, and a division of Scholastic Inc., today announced Get Puzzled!™ for the Leapster® Learning Game System from LeapFrog is now available in retail outlets nationwide. Designed for kids aged 5-8 (K-2nd grade), Get Puzzled! is an interactive “brain game” that encourages brain function in a fun environment and grows increasingly challenging as players progress. Get Puzzled! is now available exclusively on Leapster® learning systems for the retail price of $24.99.
Get Puzzled! encourages the development of critical thinking skills, vocabulary, and memory through 348 different puzzles categorized into 6 puzzle types, each containing 4 levels of increasing difficulty culminating in the “superpower” level. Reasoning, observation, problem solving, comparing and contrasting, reading, and addition are just a few of the skills that kids will cultivate through hours of engaging and brain-teasing fun.
“Scholastic Media prides itself on providing games designed to teach through fun and amusing game play that immerses kids in an educational environment,” said Alan Waldman, SVP and General Manager of Scholastic Media’s Interactive Products Group. “Parents and kids alike have come to expect a certain level of quality in our titles, and Get Puzzled! is an excellent contribution to our line-up with hours and hours of game play to be explored.”
The six different puzzles in the game include Cosmic Crossing, Critter River, Word Bird, Monster Maker, About Face and Sky High. The increasingly difficult levels ask players to guide spaceships across the Cosmos, build bridges to get across a river, solve word searches, create imaginary monsters, and apply spatial reasoning and addition skills to create walls using numbered building blocks. As the puzzles increase in difficulty, helpful hints and tutorials are available to make the game fun and accessible to players of all skill levels.
Get Puzzled! is the latest addition to the Leapster game library, which features more than 40 titles that are compatible with all of the Leapster learning systems, including Leapster, Leapster L-Max and LeapsterTV. Each learning system in the Leapster family integrates tailored tutorials, adjustable skill levels, and a hint structure designed to support kids through every step of their individual learning journeys.
