SCHOLASTIC ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES FIRST SCHOLASTIC TITLE FOR THE AWARD-WINNING LEAPSTER LEARNING GAME SYSTEM NOW AVAILABLE

Math Missions™ Offers Children An Engaging Way To Learn Basic Math Concepts

New York, NY (August 22, 2005) -- Scholastic Entertainment (SE), a leading producer of quality, family-oriented media including feature films, home video, TV and software, today announced the availability of Scholastic’s Math Missions™ for the popular Leapster™ learning game system from LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc.

Math Missions is part of Scholastic’s award-winning series of interactive learning games. Based on the CD-ROM series released in 2003, Math Missions for the Leapster learning game system introduces age-appropriate math concepts in a real-world context for children in first through third grade. Children develop addition, subtraction, multiplication, and problem solving skills while playing activities in real-world environments such as a candy store and a seafood market.  As a reward for successfully completing math exercises, children earn virtual “money” to play games at the arcade featured in Math Missions.

Math Missions for the Leapster learning game system includes many familiar games from the original CD-ROMs while also introducing exciting new characters, environments, and challenges. A game that allows kids to experience skill-building fun on-the-go, Math Missions is available for the MSRP of $24.99 at retail stores nationwide.

“Math Missions cleverly integrates essential math skills that children need with the entertainment and fun that they desire,” said Alan Waldman, Senior Vice President for Scholastic Entertainment’s Interactive Products Group. “The product’s unique combination of education and entertainment leverages the strength of the Leapster handheld. Scholastic is delighted to extend our library of interactive content to platforms like the Leapster that promote learning through play.”
