Recognizing excellence among educators and students...
Each year, Scholastic reinforces its commitment to literacy
and learning with numerous award programs designed to inspire
and reward excellence among students and educators. Scholastic
offers some of the Nation's most prestigious awards and grants,
the winners of which are celebrated across the Nation.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is run by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, Inc. a not-for-profit organization that supports young artists and writers. Each year, the Awards provide the opportunity for more than 250,000 teenagers in grades 7-12 to earn regional and national honors. Graduating high school seniors who submit portfolios of their work have the opportunity to compete for more than $1.5 million in scholarships from colleges and universities across the country.
For entry information, please visit www.artandwriting.org or call the Alliance at 212-343-6892.
National Bilingual Educator of the Year Award
In recognition of the efforts that bilingual classroom teachers make on behalf of English language learners, Scholastic is proud to sponsor The National Bilingual Teacher of the Year Award, presented annually at the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) conference. NABE and its affiliate organizations select the award-winning bilingual teacher based on his/her philosophy of education, professional development, and community service.
